Oracle: RE: OLAP: "1. Oracle Express - This was a stand alone OLAP version which was MOLAP but was in fact fully relational as well. It allows for detailed analysis within the MOLAP cube and in addition, the ability to use a ROLAP solution for detailed data which may not be best fit into the MOLAP world.
2. Discoverer - Current release is truly a ROLAP solution but can take advantage of the latest OLAP release, 9i OLAP, buy reporting on data within the 9i OLAP Analytic Workspace using relational views into the MOLAP data.
3. Oracle 9i OLAP Analytic Workspaces(AW) - This is a porting of the Oracle Express analytic engine to the Oracle RDBMS kernel which now runs as an OLAP virtual machine, much like a Java VM. It has all of the analytic and calculation capabilities of the Express engine with significant improvements in speed and functionality."
